The first season introduced 8 actors, appearing in a starring capacity. Kate Walsh, Tim Daly, Audra McDonald, Paul Adelstein, KaDee Strickland, Chris Lowell, Taye Diggs and Amy Brenneman were all credited for the full duration of the season. McDonald and Strickland make their first appearances within the franchise in the series' premiere with all the other actors initally appearing as their characters in the two-part pilot episode The Other Side Of This Life, Parts 1 & 2. McDonald's Naomi appeared played by another actress, Merrin Dungey, while Strickland's Charlotte makes her first appearance in the premiere.

Season stars Walsh, Daly, McDonald, Adelstein, Lowell, Diggs and Brenneman appear in all 9 first season episodes.

In Which We Meet Addison, A Nice Girl From Somewhere Else

Episode number: 01
Original air date: September 26, 2007
Plot: Addison resigns from Seattle Grace Hospital and leaves Seattle, ready to start her life over in L.A at Oceanside Wellness and soon finds that Naomi has informed the rest of the practice that she hired her making Addison feel out of place. However, when complications arise with her first patient she is tasked with proving herself. Naomi and Sam’s divorce starts to affect the rest of the practice while Violet deals with a patient who has a sudden psychotic break.

In Which Sam Receives An Unexpected Visitor

Original air date: October 3, 2007
Plot: Jealousy ensues between Addison and Naomi when Cooper hires a stripper for Sam as Naomi struggles with Sam moving on, and who he is moving on to, while Addison is conflicted about her feelings for Pete. Charlotte becomes embroiled in one of the practice's cases as the doctors work together to diagnose a baby's illness which leads to a devestating realization about the child's parentage while Violet's attempts to move on from her ex-boyfriend and thwarted by constant reminders of him.

In Which Addison Finds The Magic

Plot: A rainy day in L.A sees Addison questioning if leaving her life in Seattle was the best idea as she searches for the magic she found when she first visited the practice. Naomi struggles when Maya asks to stay with Sam for an entire week while Pete faces the loss of his wife on the anniversary of her death. Violet and Sam treat a patient who has an adverse reaction to her husband's attempts to leave her.

In Which Addison Has A Very Casual Get Together

Plot: Addison hosts a get together for her new Oceanside Wellness colleagues but finds herself struggling to fit in after no one RSVP's. Sam appears on a talk show to promote his new book and his appearance inspires a troubled patient to seek help at the practice. The new wife of Violet's ex-boyfriend's comes to the practice to seek medical help and Violet is far from happy about it while Cooper councils a lovesick teen and tries to tell Violet how he really feels. Addison begins to question if Naomi was truthful in telling her she has no hope to have children.

In Which Addison Finds A Showerhead

Plot: Addison tries to find a way to scratch the itch when she begins having erotic dreams about Pete with encouragement from her friends, but she suddenly finds her focus elsewhere when Maya comes to the practice secretly seeking her medical attention. Cooper is far from pleased when Violet's ex shows up at the practice and they try to forge a friendship out of their shattered relationship and Dell performs his first procedure.

In Which Charlotte Goes Down The Rabbit Hole

Plot: Charlotte seeks the help of Pete and the rest of the practice's doctors to treat her insomnia and Pete and Violet triy to get to the bottom of her problems with connecting to help solve her ailment. Naomi goes on her first date since college while a patient asks Addison to hide her fertility from her husband as Addison questions if she wants to be with Pete. Cooper and Sam becomes embroiled in a court case when Cooper suspects a mother of child abuse.

In Which Sam Gets Taken For A Ride

Original air date: November 14, 2007
Plot: Sam gets caught up in a dangerous situation when he answers a house call and ends up in a hostage situation where he is forced to deliver the gunwoman's baby while Addison and Pete work together with a widowed pregnant patient, prompting Addison and Pete to try and take their relationship to the next level. Violet convines Cooper to form a 'friends-with-benefits' pact.

In Which Cooper Finds A Port In His Storm

Plot: After their friends with benefits pact went ary, Cooper and Violet's friendship grows strained and Cooper returns to the online dating world, with unexpected results. Naomi and Sam question the repercussions of their actions when they go take a house call at a convent. Addison puts Pete behind her they participate for the Safe Surrender programme, prompting Addison to become attatched to a surrendered newborn.

In Which Dell Finds His Fight

Episode number: 09
Original air date: December 5, 2007
Plot: Addison becomes conflicted about her status in the dating world as her relationships as she debates taking up a date with a new man to get over her crush on Pete. Sam and Naomi struggle to work out where their relationship is heading, but matters become more complicated when Dell decides to act on his feelings for Naomi and enter the fight for her affections. Violet feels distanced from her best friend while Cooper and Charlotte start a secret affair.
